Folks, forget everyone one else telling you that eBook readers are not ready for prime-time, that the screen does not have enough contrast, or that they prefer to “curl-up” with a good book and feel and smell the paper and ink! I say this is hogwash!

eBook readers are indeed ready for prime time! Now I carry an Amazon Kindle 2 with literally dozens of technical manuals and reference books in my briefcase or my hand and the Kindle still weighs the same 10.2 oz! Before that I had to carry them overseas in my luggage which often weighed as much as 15 pounds more due to the books, and I could not access any of them during the flight!

Amazon will convert PDFs and lots of other documents to a format compatible with the kindle, literally at no cost (read the manual and buy the $3.99 Ultimate Guide from the Kindle store). If you read a lot or have similar needs, get an eBook reader, period! Of all the ones available now, the Kindle is really hard to beat!
